    point in the election cycle.

    This is the time when it's safest for pols to screw the people because it's so long till the next election. They're demonstrating this in neon lights up in Michigan.

    If there's a way, I hope we go for it.

      LITTLE things. Stuff that doesn't really impact them very much, and they they don't really care a lot about.

      Abortion falls into that category. It doesn't have any impact on the majority, and those it does impact often won't say much about how it affected them. Same with gay marriage (though that's changing). Same with most social issues, because they're narrow enough that few are affected.

      But what they've been doing now is SO outside what they were elected to do, and hits the majority, not a narrow minority. You don't forget those things. They change you, and totally destroy your trust in a political party.

      There's a reason why the GOP didn't control Congress for 40 yrs after the Great Depression. And they're reminding everybody exactly what that reason was.
