  •  Yeah he only got HCR done - that noncontroversial (16+ / 0-)

thing that presidents have been trying since Nixon.

He only got DADT overturned and DOMA on its way to being overturned - Clinton did a much better job being "controversial" by setting up those anti-GLBT bills.

    Etc Etc.

I get really upset when people rip President Obama despite all he's done with a historically obstructionist congress.

When we stop putting leaders from the past up on pedestals and ignoring their flaws, we can start seeing our present leaders for what they really are.

DADT had the cover of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the well chronicled efforts of thousands of LGBT activists. Same for DOMA.

      Etc. Etc.

I get really annoyed when people blindly support a President who - while not being Bush that's for damn sure - could have and should have fought so much harder for issues that I care about.

Nancy Pelosi (whom I respect) was on Capitol Hill long before Barack Obama and never got HCR passed.

LGBT did not prevent DADT during the Clinton years or overturn it during the Bush years. And same for DOMA. It happened because activists pushed for these things and the president wanted it and pushed for it.

I want the president and Congress to put stronger gun control laws in place but I am getting damn tired of this bullshit about the president being irrelevant to the passing of legislation that never passed during the tenure of his predecessors.

President Obama promised he would pass healthcare legislation during the campaign in 2007. He made that promise to Ted Kennedy and many liberals were angry with him for focusing on that instead of jobs. No rewriting history. This is a reality based community.

Chief Justice Roberts voted for HCR?!?

That is hilarious!  I guess Roberts suddenly had a change of heart, saw the light and voted against his BFFs in Big Business.

      Nope. Sorry.

Roberts upheld the IM, because it is TAX levied by the Federal Government but is paid directly to private (for-profit) corporations.

If Obama had actually delivered HCR, then the US would have joined the civilized world. REAL HCR means that the state provides health care along with the other SOCIALIZED public services: like education, law enforcement, fire protection. etc.

HIR isn't HCR. Hell, it remains to be seen if it will actually be HIR. What makes you think that for-profit insurance companies aren't going to continue to deny care, so they can increase their profits? The 80% MLR that is already being gamed?

In the Fox News Christan Nation, public schools won't teach sex education and evolution; instead they'll have an NRA sponsored "Shots for Tots: Gunz in Schoolz" program to prepare them for THIS.
