  •  Naturally, because this is a progressive site, (7+ / 0-)

many of the comments will be about gun control. And yes, we should at least tighten up controls to keep guns away from unstable people.

But if we do nothing about all the anger in our young men,
and if we do nothing about our failed mental health system,

all the gun control in the world will do hardly a lick. If people want drugs they'll get them, and if people want guns they'll get them. And if young men continue to hold in their anger with no guidance, these horrors will continue.

    •  This is NOT a "progressive" site. (1+ / 0-)

      It is a Democratic site.

FWIW, I agree with "progressives" on most issues, and I'm more to the left than many Democrats.  But I don't like to use the label "progressive" for myself.

      I prefer "yellow dog Democrat."

      •  Right now, to me the comment is pretty irrelevant. (0+ / 0-)

Yes, I do agree with you that this is a Democratic site, rather than a progressive site, technically. Yes, if you like, I "misspoke."

But again, right now my heart is on other matters, and not the niceties of "progessive" vs. "Democrat" vs. whatever. Correctness in terms right now mean squat to me.
