  •  I couldn't go to campus today (10+ / 0-)

I wasn't teaching today, but I was supposed to be on campus doing some other work... I couldn't bring myself to go in.

It felt too strange. I remember the day after the V Tech shootings. There was this eerie feeling over the campus. I just didn't feel right. Everything was strange that day and for a few days afterwards as well.

Today, my child was in school. I couldn't stop thinking about him. The painful thing is today is the day when he goes to his father's because of a split custody arrangement, and despite trying to reach them, I wasn't able to. So here I am... unable to hug my child, and unable to go to campus because I spent most of my day in tears on and off.

    Unbelievable.

    Tipped and Rec'd.

Both a teacher and a mom.  My heartfelt sympathies to you and I hope you get to hug your son real soon.

Thank you for your kind words. I read about angry people but right now, I'm just sad. Really, really sad.
