    The town where my parents lived in Arizona required all utilties to be buried. It was much nicer to look at and they didn't have to worry about drunk drivers taking them down.

      and cause major problems during high winds or ice storms.

      We had to get ours buried because they were hanging over the pool, believe it or not. I can't believe they former owners used that pool with electric wires hanging over it, but they must have. We bought the house a year ago and the pool hasn't been used for twenty years. It's a mess. But we want to get it up and running again and that was the first step.

        When I was a kid in AZ those weren't an issue, but it seemed that a couple of times a year the power would go out. We lived out in the country and I am pretty sure it was drunks. It usually happened on Saturday night.
