reasonable people along idiotic lines.  Guns...Aspergers...videogamers...

Everyone, it seems, has an axe to grind, and a defensive posture.

It really gets old. And the axe grinding usually gets recced to the top.

There is a lot of self identified victimization here that always...ALWAYS...makes it onto the rec list...it is a cornucopia of victimization.  And pity the soul that doesn't empathize equally with every aggrieved soul here.

I'm just a Democrat.  That's what initially drew me to this site.

But when I read diaries about what happened in Conn., and see people here going ballistic over the 2nd amendment, or arguing about Aspergers and whether or not the Media's mention of it serves to stigmatize mental health issues, or those who value the escapism of video games so highly that they would throw a donut at anyone who even brings the topic of violent video games up...It makes me sad.

It demoralizes me.  It makes me wonder if we are a real community, or just an amalgamation of groups who feel victimized, and elevate their own perceived measure of victimization above everyone elses.

That's what this place, increasingly, is looking like to me.

A parade of people who seemingly hold up the same banner, but who really have their own, very narrow, agenda.

It is not a rainbow coalition.  It is a a collection of of aggrieved people who don't have much in common with each other, but who have even less in common with the Republicans.

It feels ad hoc.  It doesn't feel organic...and many of the organic attempts feel forced.  There is a lot of splinterization going on here, under the guise of solidarity.  Maybe it's just me...maybe I'm just not a true enough believer...

Maybe I'm just getting burnt out.  I don't know what it is, but something just doesn't feel right.

Oregon: Sure...it's cold. But it's a damp cold.
