  •  The main purpose of the group is, in my mind, (0+ / 0-)

to remind Democrats that backing gun control legislation has repeatedly led to election losses. I know that many NRA-supported candidates lost in the last election, but that was in the context of a President and a Democratic Party making no effort to propose new gun control laws. The NRA tried to stir up hysteria, but it was obviously hyperbole, with no evidence to back it up. Democrats are now preparing to provide that concrete evidence. You may doubt it, but I believe that this is the issue which will resurrect a moribund Republican Party in 2014. We are on the verge of taking control of the government again in 2014 and making the Republicans irrelevent. I firmly believe that this will screw that up.

    •  so does backing.... (0+ / 0-)

...pro-choice positions in the Democratic platform.  Do you think someone who supports anti-choice positions as adamantly as RKBAers support positions like concealed carry would last very long here at Dkos.

And I think Rachel Maddow has effectivly proven your point is a myth.
