  •  Instead of banning, why not increase spending by.. (2+ / 0-)

....3% of GDP on the programs Ojibwa outlined yesterday?

       If we assume that (20+ / 0-)

the gun lobby  is so powerful  that there will be no real action with regard to guns, then our focus on reducing the potential for gun violence should be on:

    (1) making sure that mental health care is a universal right--free and available to all

    (2) making sure that education--particularly college education--is a universal right, free and available to all

    (3) reducing poverty by raising the minimum wage and having strong unions.

I realize that none of this is practical in today's political climate, but it's nice to dream.

What position is a conservative more likely to support?

    (i) A bill which limits firearms access or

(ii) A bill which addresses the causes of gun violence, in part by directly increasing his paycheck.

Let's see what Dem has the courage to propose Ojibwa recommendations in Congress.

wingnuts will ignore both of those choices, considering that what they have done for the past 20 years is:

      (i) Pass bills that WIDEN access to firearms and

(ii) Pass bills that cut all public health spending, especially those that would have a chance of addressing gun violence.

There is no reasoning with the other side and their obscene beliefs on these issues.

    •  Why pretend there's an "Instead of"? (0+ / 0-)

This place needs a PVP server.
