    Of course, restricting the ownership and sale of military and paramilitary-style weapons, which have no redeeming social value, is not pointless.  

    But whatever the solution to our problem is, what's most important is that we stop pretending there isn't a problem, because some of us are afraid that the solution might infringe on our lifestyle.  

    Conservatives need to realize that their Silent Moral Majority is neither silent, nor moral, nor a majority.

      THEIR "lifestyle"--one that scrapes the bottom of my list of priorities of things we have to "protect". Freedom comes with implicit responsibilities and limits.
