  •  I doubt it. (7+ / 0-)

And wouldn't consider it desirable, either. They're odious, but we don't turn speech into an accessory to murder, not legally, that is.

Fuck you, I put on pants yesterday.

They actively interfere with laws that would have saved thousands of lives.

They actively interfere with elections with the intent of preventing laws that would have saved thousands of lives.

They actively incite fear, hatred and paranoia in their members with the intent of increasing sales of dangerous military-grade weapons of mass destruction.

They use the results of those thousands of lives snuffed out by their own actions as a reason for their members to purchase even more weaponry against the threat of crazed nutters with dangerous weaponry.

Sounds like promoting terrorism to me.

And it would only allow an outfit like the Gun Owners of America to fill the void.

No, it would be better in the long term to hold the NRA up for public ridicule ... make NRA membership carry the same stigma as Klan membership.

      •  We probably shouldn't go there (0+ / 0-)

        not in an official capacity.

However, that does not stop us, we the people, labeling this odious organisation in any way we see fit.

The cap fits, and we should make them wear it.

I hope that the quality of debate will improve,
but I fear we will remain Democrats.
