All rational gun owners should leave the only organization that is willing to stand for their rights, even when its unpopular.

    •  so those kids were just collateral damage (9+ / 0-)

in the fight for the right to bear assault weapons and to interpret the 2nd amendment  in the broadest possible terms.  Too bad for them but I'm sure they're in heaven appreciating the sacrifice they were able to make for you and your guns

    •  You appear to be deluding yourself about the NRA (7+ / 0-)

It does not support gun-owners' rights any more. It preaches paranoia and tries to persuade people to buy more and more guns that are inappropriate for cities or hunting.

Hey, hey, NRA, how many kids did you kill today?

      •  I can read between the lines (0+ / 0-)

It hasn't been very hard to gauge the sentiment here on DKos over the last couple days.

Mainly, there is no legitimate purpose for guns, we should outlaw or severely restrict sales/ownership of guns, and if we don't act within the immediate aftermath of the Sandy Hook tragedy, we will miss the opportunity to make drastic changes.

Unless people (like the NRA) are willing to vigorously defend the 2nd amendment, it would have been discarded long ago.

        •  You read too much into it (0+ / 0-)

There are some who say that, but many if not most are saying that rational gun laws will save lives and the NRA has made it clear that they think that killing kids is just a fine way to protect their twisted version of the second amendment.

The NRA and its members are part the reason those children died. The blood is on their hands as much as on the hands of the killer.

They only stand for the second amendment because without it, they'd be out of business.

The priest said, "Today's sermon is called 'Liars', but first I have a question. How many of you have read Chapter 66 in Matthew?" Nearly every hand went up. "You're just the group I need to speak to," the priest said. "There's no such chapter."
