  •  Really? (0+ / 0-)

So what was the opposite impression you got and what made about the segment made you think that way?  I'm not challenging you, I'm just kind of curious.  It would help restore a little faith in humanity for me if you could convince me.

    •  Well I for one thought they allowed (0+ / 0-)

the NRA to run a commercial during their show.
That is what your headline implies.

Pardon us if we took you literally.

report with very little embelishment. Yes they said the shooter had Aspergers because he did. They also said there is no indication that his Aspergers had anything to do with what happened and that those that suffer from Aspergers were usually the recipients of violence not the perpetrators of it. Oh and I certainly did not get the impression it was a ad for the F 'ing NRA.

The 47% also "pay all the taxes that are legally required and not a dollar more" but when Romney does it he thinks it's a virtue, while when they do it, he thinks they are deadbeats.

This may be an instance of sometimes people see/hear what they look for?

First we don't know he had Aspergers.  Aspergers is a medical diagnosis, they were simply going on what people told them, which no new organization should do.  Second, having Aspergers was the primary attribute they reported on Adam.  Why?  There is absolutely no relationship between having Aspergers and violence (though nobody watching could have known that if they didn't know the literature).  Why not report his political affiliations or his mother's reported surivivalism, both of which have much more relationship to gun use in the literature (I don't agree they should have done either without more reporting).  To discuss Aspergers as the primary attribute of an individual and then the say, "Oh but we don't know if Aspergers had anything to do with it" is to me highly unprofessional and suggests an agenda.  If it were in the context of a number of other attributes possibly.  I worry that so many people don't see something wrong with this - the same people who would be screaming bloody murder is the central reported attibute was that he had a mother who was a gun zealot and survivalist.

          •  we do know that this is what his (0+ / 0-)

            own mother said he had.
