He said "Hold my feet to the fire" and there are reasons:

    (a) Can't do it alone.
    (b) More issues than time. Priority.
    (c) Support. When the public sticks to an issue it empowers.

“The president was very powerful in his response in a number of ways,” Weinstein said. “He said to the groups, ‘Your job is to hold my feet to the fire…so, you need to be out there everyday raising these issues, telling us when we’re doing the right or wrong thing. My role is to be President of the United States, and your role is to be a strong voice for people who aren’t always heard.’ I think that’s a powerful message — what produces good policy is not just the expertise of people inside the government, but the pressure that comes from outside.
    It works.

What I'm saying is people cannot kick back waiting for things to happen, they have to do something to make something happen.

And every week I get at least one email from the Obama machine asking me to do something and 2 or 3 from Daily Kos to do something (like this week's request to sign petitions).

Your intentions are certainly good.  I'm just sick of Obama taking so long to "get it" on these critical issues.  It reminds me of how it took him 4 years to understand that you can't negotiate with the GOP in good faith. Should have taken him 4 days.

Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the War Room!

I understand your frustration with people who moan that Obama hasn't given them a pony just because it was supposed to happen automatically.
