at the end of December affecting millions of people.  Would the diarist have preferred the President let them?

I'm on SS, & will survive if my COL which equals approximately l% is altered over the next 10 years.

but since the program is still in surplus and will be for decades to come this calculated change in benefits is nothing but a "revenue enhancement", a tax increase paid for on only the first $106,000 of earned income made all the more outrageous in that it comes from a Democrat.

21 years, actually. That's uncomfortably near term. The longer we wait to try to address this problem, the more drastic those changes will need to be.

more than one and the program can easily be adjusted without cuts in benefits. A few years of a growing economy will solve the problem without any adjustments at all. My point is that this isn't a "problem that needs to be solved before the Mayan apocalypse or even the first of the year.
