Is that we actually do still go over the cliff, because the House doesn't have enough time/sanity to craft a bill for either the Senate or Obama to fully agree to before January 1st, and this whole thing gets reset to square one after the new Congress is sworn in.

And actually... that's what I'm hoping for: run out the clock. God damn. What a shitty move.

It's so unlikely that anything will actually make it through the House. Anything that will make it through with GOP support will be DOA for the White House and the Senate dems.

And anything that Boner can get done with the President will have to pass the House with Dem support and a fraction of his caucus AND will cost him his Speakership.

Seriously. Nothing is going to happen. Obama can continue to make overtures that look reasonable to the average citizen (although unpalatable to his base). We are at Peak Wingnut.Nothing is getting through the House unless it involves coupons for Medicare, privatizing social security, and Reagan's face on the dollar bill.
