    i read what he wrote about 60s radicals in his book.

    the thing is I thought he would put everyone at the table and at least make rational choices.

    i was hoping against hope that he would do something about mortgage relief.

    i was hoping he'd replace geithner with someone decent.

    i think it is more likely i will be marching on the white house in the spring than obama will do any of the things i consider most important.

    there is something truly wrong with the man in my opinion.

    this sort of about face on any issue, never mind SS, is precisely what makes people cynical about government.

    meanwhile back in MI

    we didn't have an election.

    i strongly doubt that we have much left of our democracy.

    the city on a hill was a dream.

    and marching doesn't do anything anyhow: the system just absorbs it.

    i keep waiting for people to get fed up enough to really do something.  ows was a ray of hope.  obama made sure that there wasn't any room for that to develop, but if what i see coming arrives, nothing anyone can do will avert some awful pain.

    the longer it takes for people to become active, the harder everything will become.
