  •  Sy Hersh reported the My Lai massacre and when (14+ / 0-)

people saw images of dead women and children and heard about the gang rapes and mutilations, it finally opened their eyes.

These think tanks/PACs have all the bases covered.  They learned from Viet Nam not to allow reporters in to freely cover war, but to imbed them.  They are tightly managing what Americans learn about the war, and they know that they must keep images of the victims out of the MSM if they are to keep these wars going on and on.  They don't want any My Lai photos in Pakistan.

Double taps not only frighten first responders from coming to the aid of drone victims, but it also frightens photographers away.

Look at the drone killing of Tariq Aziz, a 16 year old who had volunteered to photograph the aftermath of drone strikes.

A group of Pakistanis met in Islamabad late last month to discuss the impact of U.S. drone strikes in their communities. One of the attendees was a 16-year-old boy named Tariq Aziz, who had volunteered to learn photography to begin documenting drone strikes near his home. Within 72 hours of the meeting, Aziz was killed in a U.S. drone strike. His 12-year-old cousin was also killed in the Oct. 31 attack.
