  •  what makes you think gore/lieberman (5+ / 0-)

would not have gone to war.

clinton went to war in bosnia.
after 9-11 there would have been a war (at least in afghanistan, and yeah 9-11 would probably have happened still with gore b/c clinton failed to kill bin laden when he had the chance)... and like when clinton bombed iraq innocents died...

by the Serbs of Bosnian civilians in Kosovo .  I supported that.

Unfortunately, the USAF deployed depleted Uranium munitions, which in my view constitutes a war crime, if not a crime against humanity.

U-238 (the isotope in depleted Uranium) is mildly radioactive; it emits an alpha particle which can be stopped by a piece of paper.  Unfortunately U-238 munitions are pyrophoric, and generate dust and powder when they explode.  These get into the air and soil and water, and are then ingested.

An alpha particle emitted inside your body is no longer innocuous.  Whatever it hits (like a DNA molecule) will be damaged.

The half-life of U-238 is about 4.5 billion years, so it's not going away anytime soon.

I still don't know whether to blame Clinton for the depleted Uranium weapons (which way pre-date him).  I don't know if any president can order an air strike and still specify their that they not be used.

of uranium tipped weapons.  What's a General going to say? No?  Not blaming Clinton is like not blaming Obama for the drone attacks.  Doesn't make sense.

Romney is George W. Bush without brains.

We should not have been involved in the whole Bosnian mess given the history there.  Clinton went to war to stop the shelling by the Serbs of Bosnian civilians in Kosovo, so we would up bombing civilian populations and killing civilians in order to stop the killing of civilians.

Clinton's foreign policy was just as stupid and futile as every other president since the National Security Act of 1947.

for Gore loosing to Bush. Gore could not even win his own state. Also picking a piece of shit who was and remains one of the worse warmonger in congress as his running mate was a terribly stupid thing to do.

Picking Lieberman as a running mate was even more stupid than the pick made by McCain. So please, let's quit blaming Nader for loosing us the election.

When Joe ran on his own in the presidential primary he received about two percent of the democratic rank-and-file votes, despite the fact that the entire braindead leadership in CT supported that warmonger in that primary.

War is costly. Peace is priceless!

I doubt a Gore-Lieberman administration would have worked QUITE so hard to ignore the intelligence about 9-11 before hte fact. Or worked QUITE so hard to involve Iraq in the response, where there was no evidence of Iraqi involvement... they may have let the Saudi's slide, or not. But Plame/yellow-cake? Saddam's WMD?

I kind of doubt things would have developed exactly as they did during 2000-2008.

      •  You're right. Gore was not part of the New (0+ / 0-)

American Century crowd that had been wanting to invade Iraq for years.  There would have been no Iraq war.
