Remember the Rev Wright "scandal"? How much of Rev Wright actually rubbed off on the President. Wright has made a career out of denouncing the power class and being a leftist. It was Wright who convinced the FOX news crowd that Obama was a leftist. But has Obama actually done anything that the left could live with much less support?

We were all sold a bag of lies. Republicans and Democrats at the grassroots were lead to believe Obama was a progressive. But the important people knew otherwise. We are an audience at a Greek tragedy wherein the audience is the victim.

I never served in the military and I have great empathy for all who suffer. Civilian and solider. All who suffer no matter who side they are on. Does the President lack an insight or a gift of understanding people's pain? Is it they way he was born?

Nixon used to wander around the Lincoln memorial during protests, talking to protesters seeking understanding. He just could not get why he was hated. Yes everything you have heard about Nixon is true but the man suffered. That in no way forgives him of anything. But still the man suffered. Johnson wanted to hug everybody and be every bodies best friend. And when he felt personal rejection it hurt him deeply. Carter struggled mightly with the tension between human rights and needing allies in the Middle East. GHW Bush was a real war hero who quickly stopped the Gulf War the second he was advised to. Almost as if he was praying for someone to tell him to stop. That in no way justifies what these leaders did.

Clinton had a number of opportunities to kill Bin Laden but waved off because of the chance that a child might be hurt. He remember how an attack on Ghaddafi killed a teenage girl. Obama never had those worries. And I wonder of the President loses sleep over the deaths by drone. I lose sleep over it and wonder just what kind of a country we have become. We are the greatest military power on the face of history and we kill children by remote control. What does that do to our sense of honor. Or our humanity. We have done a very good job of denying the humanity of our "adversaries" and the fact that torture enjoys the wide support of the American people shames me no end. I am ashamed to be an American. And I am beginning to be ashamed of being a Democrat.
