    I think defense (war) spending should be the majority of the cuts. Any deal the president and the Democrats signs on to that is largely at the expense of our society's most in need is a bad deal.

    So with this latest offer:

    Of the $800 billion in straight cuts, the president said half would come from federal health care programs;
    Call that $400 billion, versus:
    $100 billion from military spending
    That's a bad deal.

      and maybe in generl, but a significant stimulus package would ameliorate this.

      Don't think he'll get it though.

      •  Obama previously asked for only $50 billion for (0+ / 0-)

        the infrastructure bank, which Boehner rejected.

        The other part of his stimulus was the extension of the Social Security tax holiday, which my understanding is that has been dropped.

        Am I missing some other stimulus program hidden in this latest proposal?
