    is a place where negotiations continue. With a more progressive Congress.

    I'm not sure that is being properly reported.

      the automatic sequestration cuts, and automatic end of the Bush tax cuts and then fighting for the middle class tax cuts would be a more progressive deal as it will have the military sharing a greater share of the government spending cuts. --- which were about half the sequestration cuts, I believe.

      President Obama's proposal of reductions to government spending appear to be worse than the sequestration cuts for our social programs.

      It is unclear what Deans thoughts on the debt-limit fight are.

      Perhaps he thinks we have better chances on a pure debt limit standoff, after the tax cuts, and sequestration are behind us?

      I'm very discouraged by these developments, as I expect this will damage not only seniors, the sick, and the poor, but the Democratic Party as well.

      That's technically true, but immaterial as far as the House is concerned.  Speaker Boehner will still control the House, and nothing will get to the floor for a vote unless he lets it get to the floor for a vote.  The House is pretty much total control by the majority, no matter how slim their margin is.
