Honestly, guys, I've got to ask you do you really think you're helping yourselves when you write stuff like this? This is exactly the sort of thing that gave me a bad opinion of the group before I'd even said boo about guns. You do realize that I've been reading snitty, petulant comments like this for months now and my opinion has been going lower and lower. This comment isn't so much for you, annieli, as for some of the more reasonable members of the group.

        •  I know I'm going to sound like a bit of a scold, (0+ / 0-)

even though I really don't want to, but we're just not going to win the argument with them by fighting fire with fire in that way. I think there are a lot of good logical reasons to counter the position of Second Amendment absolutists and we will do ourselves a big favor by sticking to them. Always remember that you have people who have not yet formed an opinion reading what you write on the internet even if they aren't actively particpating. As I've said several times recently, I've developed my thoughts about their positions while reading what they've written in situations where I was just lurking, including some of their own diaries.

Their attitudes get me angry, too.

    •  That's a good reason for the gunners to (0+ / 0-)
