It is only fair, that people only pay taxes on the public services that they actually use.

I'm a single person, with no children.

I should get a tax rebate, for all the taxes I pay into public education. I don't have any kids who go to school....so why should I be paying taxes to subsidize the people who do have children in public schools?

On the other hand.....if your model of society is more civilized, then we should all be paying for taxes to create a more civilized society: like education and heath care for everyone, regardless of their ability to pay for it.

Maybe we should follow the Scandinavian model of social democracy, where hunger and homelessness are almost non-existent. But when it is almost impossible to be impoverished, then it's much more difficult to become super-rich. The Scandinavian countries pay a very heavy price for their social democracy; they don't have as many millionaires as the US and they have hardly any billionaires at all. Do we really want to live in a society that expects the very wealthy to make sacrifices which only benefit the poorest citizens? That really sounds UnAmerican.

In the Fox News Christian Nation, public schools won't teach sex education and evolution; instead they'll have an NRA sponsored Shots for Tots: Gunz in Schoolz program.
