    In particular that scene where he's paralyzed by the cereal aisle when he returns home.  In Iraq he was faced with very few choices, but every one was immediate and had immense importance.  At home, he was faced with a nearly infinite number of choices, but nearly every one was completely meaningless.  I thought it was an interesting commentary on how our consumer society has cheapened our experiences and led to isolation and alienation.
