Don't buy New Balance because of one exec?  It's ok to screw the workers in the US plant because you don't like what one person has to say.

This is what wrong with this country. The 'my way is the only way' is getting old.

I didn't know about the US plant - ref. the comment a couple up from this one.

The "one exec" was the owner, and in his statement and funding he revealed his beliefs and the kind of person he is. That has to be reflected in his company.

It's always a problem, and I alluded to it at the end of my post, when I cross a company off my list of potential vendors. They have employees, as you point out. But I figure I have three choices when looking at a company that wants to sell me goods or services:

      A) The company has no political agenda.

      B) The company, as represented by the owner or CEO, has an agenda that is bad for my country.

      C) The company, as represented by the owner or CEO, has an agenda that is good for my country.

      All three have employees.

By choosing C, or even, A I'm doing something positive for America. If I choose company B, a Papa Joe's, say, it hurts America. So companies in A and C benefit, and so do their employees.

Specific to New Balance, if we find sneakers made in the USA we'll buy them; if not, we'll keep looking.
