  •  thanks, Congressman (17+ / 0-)

    Excellent explanation

I can't believe Nancy Pelosi is trying to say this is OK.

If something like this must be accepted, D's shouldn't be selling it. It should be, "we HATE it, but this is what the GOP had to have or else no deal and an even worse outcome."

And MAKE THE GOP PROPOSE IT for God's sake!!

Why is the WH proposing this?

      Question:

Why is the WH proposing this?
Because they want it. President Obama has been down for cutting the Social Safety Net for a long time. See David Mizner's diary for the definitive timeline on how the Administration has been marching towards this like an unrelentless juggernaut even before the inauguration in 2009.

      Are Your Eyes Open Yet

President Obama has wanted his legacy to be that guy. And if he gets his Grand Bargain, he'll wreck the Democratic Party on the rocky shores of political irrelevance.

The only way this gets stopped dead in its tracks is by the DLC/New Dem/Centrist's hold on the party leadership.

I know a lot of the liberals and progressives in office want to play nice, but maybe it's time to get outside of the DNC, DCSS, DCCC circle and get some real candidates in there for a big push in 2020 & 2022, after making some small gains in 2014, 2016, and 2018 in the House. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz will keep tossing out Blue Dogs and Conservadems out there...it's time for properly funded and organized progressives to knock them out before the general.

The Grand Bargain must be stopped at all costs to protect the 99%.
