    "Oh What a Lovely War", from back in the mid-60's I think.. I don't recall the producer and such data, but even after decades I still think of it often.  It treats the Powers-that-Be as multinational players of a huge game of chess, alternating their oh-so-decorous and honorable machinations and chess moves with the resulting real-life scenes of soldiers living miserably and dying in agony in the trenches on the fronts to which they'd been moved.  I was a pacifist before, but that one nailed it for me.
