  •  My mother broke her hip (5+ / 0-)

It was 1989, and she came from Dallas to visit me in San Jose CA. I had recently bought my first house. Any way I awoke in the middle of the night to weird sounds and went downstairs to find my mother laying on the staircase in agony. She wanted me to get her to the toilet. She really couldn't walk, and I half carried her, took down her pants and sat her on the toilet. Where upon, she let out an enormous holler of pain.

She insisted that she would be alright and to NOT call the paramedics. Well of course, I immediately called the paramedics, who took her to the hospital. As I was getting some things in a bag for her, I saw that she had been hitting the scotch pretty good, but I didn't know how much she had drunk or how long ago. Needless to say the nurses and doctors in the ER would not give her any pain meds 'cause of the scotch. She had broken her hip and had a replacement operation the next day.

the Republican brand is totally bankrupt.
