Maybe that is what she wanted. I don't think she knew she was going to die, but maybe she did.  Of course, if I believed that's what she wanted, then I would just have to be torn between her desire to die alone and my desire to have had just one more look into her eyes...

that's the pain you're feeling, also, probably just missing her with every breath. It might help to trust she knew on some level exactly what was happening. As scared as we are when someone we love is dying, imagine what's going on with the person that is actually dying.

This diary has so many amazingly touching stories like this one.
I lost a soul mate a few months ago as well.
The last time I saw him, he had such a strange look in his soul windows. His eyes looked at me with what I misinterpreted as a goodbye to our relationship.
I didn't understand what had happened. I was deeply hurt.
He didn't explain what he was feeling or going through, so I went away, painfully accepting that he was saying goodbye to us. In reality he was just saying goodbye.
He didn't want to upset me. But I would have happily supported him through the process! Instead, because I misread him, I was angry, withdrawn.
That is my most scarring regret right now.

Thanks to the diarist for this diary. It's an encouragement for all of us to stop... Smell roses... Plant smiles .... Never miss an opportunity to express ourselves.
