    remember - there was an armed deputy at Columbine, but he was not at the point of entry.

    And having lots of guns around does not necessarily stop a mass shooting -  think of Fort Hood.

    By the time someone carrying pulls out a weapon, someone with a 30 round magazine and a semi-automatic weapon can easily have killed over a dozen people.

    And unless the person carrying has been trained to fire under stress, the chances of collateral damage escalate seriously.

    We had a rifle team at our high school -  Tom Horne was my high school classmate.  He was not on the team.

    He never served in the military.

    I suspect he does not have a real understanding of firearms despite his bloviations.

    Oh, and if you make it a law that the principal carry, anyone guess who the first target of a shooter might be?
