  •  When you write what Scientician quoted (8+ / 0-)

you're not defending, illuminating, or justifying your personal experiences. Quite the opposite: the implication of that statement is that you're claiming to be a better distiller of objective information than the rest of us.

That's a very bold claim. It's a claim that's likely to annoy people who read it. In fact, it's likely to be wrong for many of us. (To flip one of your arguments around, you know close to nothing about pretty much all of us.) And it's likely to make a lot of people less inclined to believe anything else you say.

I'm not writing this to attack you; I'm writing this to explain why it was a bad idea to write that particular statement.

Let us all have the strength to see the humanity in our enemies, and the courage to let them see the humanity in ourselves.

    •  In retrospect? (4+ / 0-)

It came from a place of pain.

I mean, I garner r/w trolls because of my FB page and radio show and my far-left opinions.  They HATE me. I'm used to that.

But I guess I never expected the left to be so vicious with me because I own guns...

I AM for regulation.  But this thread alobe illuminates just how very cruel people can be when you don't group-think.

The Left as a whole generally is for a gun-less society, and breaching that code opens you up to abuse.

So, yeah, not my best sentence ever... but I still "feel" it.
