    You are a thoughtful and caring person.  Your parents did a great job, so your grandmother must have done a great job with your father - even with a terrible husband.  A good, strong woman to remember with love.  

    My grandchildren are losing their great-grandmother (my DIL's grandmother).  Helen is 93 and in just the past week, I have noticed a rapid decline.  Last week she went to my grandson's concert and she was alert, spry - got in and out of the car with no problem - kept up a conversation.  Christmas day she was hardly able to speak and couldn't stand on her own.  Very sad.  They love her dearly; I am very fond of her.   She too did a great job with her children despite a terrible husband.
