  •  Not written yet bc you can't turn it into a movie. (5+ / 0-)

No one would turn out to watch lots of random people typing really fast and occasionally cursing at their screens :)

I admit, I made this stat up, but if anything, I think it's probably conservative. There are MANY a best seller book in this country, still not translated into film.

A movie is a big freaking deal. It takes months and big bucks to make one.  If we were dependent on Hollywood to make a book viable, there would only be say, 10 to 30 books published a year.

Nevertheless, there is imo, a wide open niche in fiction, that speaks to the reality of the internet and what transpires there. The virtual communities, the anonymous nature or those communities, and the dramas that could and do play out there every day.  Add a little imagination, and you've got a good book.

And any writer could tell you, their book on such would not feature "random people typing really fast."  No, instead it would tell the story of the content, the possibilities, the nephews of the world.

God, I'd love to be the writer to write that book, and do it well.  But even if I did that, and did it well, chances are I couldn't even find an agent, let alone get published. I've been down that road.

No, it's going to be up to someone like John Grisham to write this book.  And whether it's him or someone else, it will be done.

in the avid reader/writer category.  I like knowing you're out there, another appreciator of words and their power.
