    As of now.

    I do not know if the author is a conscious fraud. I suspect not. But as a person allegedly trained in the scientific method, he is at the very least ignoring his own discipline and putting forth a theory on grounds that could hardly sustain a speculation.

    I don't think he's doing it for money, but it has crossed my mind that the whole experience may have left him with a somewhat inflated idea of his own significance to the universe. Thankfully, his "revelation" is so New-Age Nebulous that it is highly unlikely anyone can use it to do evil.

      left him with an acute awareness of his own mortality, not surprisingly, having clung to it fragilely, and of course, getting older.

      Many people find religion under those circumstances and for the same reasons many of the young find religion attractive: the promise of eternal life.

      I'll grant, it's one promise science can't make... at least yet.
