I'd love to get the better bulbs.  Don't think I can squeeze even $15 out of my income though. :(  Trying to figure out how to pay for some medical tests atm.  I want the better bulbs, either kind, and have gotten a few in the past, but income  has shriveled.  I've been watching the prices where I normally shop but while they're dropping slowly they're still astronomical compared with incandescents.

Also CFL light quality is poor, one CFL bulb I installed last year for occasional use has already died, and LED light is so glaring I have difficulty reading by it. With the huge jump in market share from banning the others one would think they could have spent something on product quality and improvement, not to mention refraining from price gouging.  It would be real tough to convince me it costs them so much more to make these.

maybe ten years ago, didn't last very long.  But now, it has probably been three to five years since I had to replace one.  When I used incandescents, they burned out all the time.  I'm definitely saving money.  As a bonus, I no longer get startled by that dreaded flash of light that signals the end of the life span of an incandescent.
