    'transcend minutiae'. Because a close reading of the released documents doesn't substantiate a 'deep involvement' of the banks. They show the FBI and other agencies informing banks that they were targets of specific protests in specific places. It shows nothing about banks collaborating on responses to those protests. The minutiae, i.e. words, of those documents don't substantiate your diary title.

        One is that it's a bit of common-sense advice that people dressed conservatively are less likely to be mistaken for OWS protesters.

        Another is that it stems from prior knowledge about whom the local police were going to go after; perhaps even prior agreements with the local police.

        The above is not snark; I do think the second reading is possible. But I don't think it's likely, especially because the first reading does seem like plain common sense to me. (As in, why even bother mentioning it, other than to cover their rear ends a bit?)

        Let us all have the strength to see the humanity in our enemies, and the courage to let them see the humanity in ourselves.
