The doctors, assuredly, have complete knowledge of where the clot is and what it's up to considering that they know of its existence and have decided on a course of treatment for it.

I don't begin to understand how it's connected to a GI issue.

It would be nice if they weren't being so vague. Why are they being so vague here? How aggravating. If they're going to report it at all, they might as well explain themselves properly.

The statements are most likely vague because we have strict laws governing medical confidentiality.  One is called HIPA.  And there is the traditional doctor/patient confidentiality that provides for adherence to the patient's wishes on what information is released to whom.  A doctor can lose his license for releasing too much information.

If a GI issue causes other strong reactions in the body such as the loss of fluids which would lead to dizziness, the patient would fall.  A blow to another part of the body would cause damage there.  I'm always saying this, and I'm sorry if I'm making everyone tired of hearing it,  but my MS causes other things to happen to me.  Pneumonia, bladder infections, ear infections.  The presence of one illness can lead to the onset of others if you are sufficiently weakened.

I hope they give more detailed updates as well, but if she or her family has decided that this is what they want then this is all the doctors can give us.
