    This year it didn't feel the same way. One aspect may have been (at least to me it felt that way) that last year you had the impression there were people who really needed the gift subscription, because they either couldn't afford it themselves or because their hardware would be too weak to handle the site's pages to load easily.

      and or had systems that couldn't handle the site easily were those I was most concerned about.

      When I posted the diary I fully expected it to sink like a stone, but this community had other ideas that flowered into something completely unexpected.  The generosity of spirit was awe inspiring. The delight when another name was crossed off the list was tangible.

       Of all the things I've been fortunate enough to be a part of on this site, being part of what this community created last year goes down in the record books. :)
