    the need for children to work out heir physical need to move.  fewer children would get in trouble for being disruptive if they had a chance to release some of the pent up energy they get.

    Some kids are more energetic than others, so unstructured free play time satisfies all their needs - the physically active ones would run, jump, climb, and the less physical ones would huddle in corners and talk and play quieter games, or even go off to read alone.

    Recess is essential.

    We have breaks at work to stop and release the tension of the workplace, children need breaks, too.
