Or did they give up on us?!

A South politician preaches to the poor white man
"You got more than blacks, don't complain
You're better than them, you been born with white skin" they explain
    And the Negro's name
    Is used it is plain
    For the politician's gain
    As he rises to fame
    And the poor white remains
On the caboose of the train
But it ain't him to blame
He's only a pawn in their game.

Certaines personnes disent qu'il y a une femme à blâmer, Mais je sais que c'est ma faute sacrément.

steam with the "We are the 99%" slogan, Frank Luntz on Fox News said that this 99% meme was really hurting the Republican brand name in his recent testing.

      Why?

I'll tell you why.  The Republicans have very effectively, for a long time, said, "It's not poor versus rich.  It's us versus them, us whites versus blacks, Christians versus perverts, capitalists versus communists...

They SEIZED the Honey Boo Boo electorate and claimed it for their own.  Then, along comes Occupy to remind some people that, hey, those rich guys that run things ARE NOT LIKE US AFTER ALL.  And the ability of the right to redraw the us versus them Zenn Diagram was injured.

They decry class warfare, and I think they do it with good reason: it stands to destroy them.  If/when the boundaries of us versus them are redrawn as you and me and Honey Boo Boo's family versus the Romneys and the Kochs and the coke-snorting CEOs that got our bailout money, that poses the possibility of destroying the lynchpin that holds them together.
