  •  I actually have read Steve Jobs bio (20+ / 0-)

by Walter Isaacson. I'm not sure what idea that resolution is meant to put forward. I suppose Kieffer believes that because Jobs is a very iconic entrepreneur and many progressives use Apple products that it's supposed to show some kind of hypocrisy. I doubt she actually read the book. For one thing, Jobs never, ever, ever ate hamburgers or any kind of beef (so he must not be a "real man"). He followed many restrictive diets over his life, vegan mostly. He was a complicated personality, a genius in product design, charming when he chose to be, but often a real jerk to those around him, employees, partners, waiters etc. He didn't have a good "don't be a jerk" filter. Which means he didn't have a great deal of empathy in his personality, which would make him like most conservatives in that respect. However he grew up in a liberal part of California and was surrounded by liberals, including his beloved wife, so he cared about liberal issues as well as business issues. My point is, he is way too complex a character to ever be some kind of conservative icon. If Katie Kieffer has actually read the book then she should understand this, however that would require critical thinking.
