supposedly "lept" for joy in the womb after hearing the news that one day he'd baptize Jesus.

Seriously, I'm not kidding...that is what they're hanging their hats on, at least the ones where I demand they back up their opinion.  That's it, that's the "proof."  I don't know whether to laugh or be horrified.

It's in the same category as when--oh, what's that dumbass congressman's name?--used "God's rainbow" after the whole great Noah the Ark flood to say there's no threat from global warming.

Right up there with Mary's "immaculate conception" to free her from "original sin". The Bible merely states that John's mother had been barren (not virginal, mind you) and that the angel Gabriel (??) announced she was with child. Nothing special about John the Fetus leaping for joy. The Catholics added the bit about his cleansing much, much later.

What's wrong with America? I'll tell you. Everything Romney said was pre-chewed wads of cud from Republicans from the last 30 years and yet he managed thru a combination of racism and selling the (false) hope of riches to get 47% of the national vote.

because it only enhances the main reason why I am pro-choice after being raised by, and wall-to-wall-packed-to-the-elbows with, pro-lifers: because no one can ever seem to back up where we're supposed to get the idea that life begins when the sperm hits the egg.  Even creationists can point to something in the bible; "pro-lifers" can't even do that much.
