    Yes the House has to pass it and yes, they voted down Boehner's Plan B so there are no guaranteees.

      to guaranteed that after voting down Boener's B, they'll vote down something they like even less?

      I realize that, 'Don't worry, leave everything in the hands of the extremist Republican House members!' isn't a wonderful rallying cry. But what're the chances of them voting 'yes' on this, if it's to the left of something they already rejected?

      How does that happen? Boehner suddenly learns how to herd his feral cats?

        Not at all.

        Indeed, my own read of the situation was that after going over the cliff a better deal would be passed.

        Why you might ask? Two basic reasons, (1)  the pressure will be immense from Wall Street and the electorate.  (2) Dems will have shown they are not budging.
