  •  And how do these things (6+ / 0-)

equate to standing with the 1%? How does insuring unemployment continues and modest stimulative measure continue sanding with the 1%.

Why is it that, as a culture, we are more comfortable seeing two men holding guns than holding hands?

      •  No! (0+ / 0-)

Because now you have changed the subject. From standing with the 1%, which Obama clearly has not, to offering the Republicans a chance to hostage take again. And Yes there is certainly that chance as there always is with this crowd of whack jobs.

And here's a thought want to convince please link to something other than another DKos diary, say to Krugman or someone else with some actual fiscal/economic chops.

Of and by-the-way Krugman is not all that upset with this deal.

wealth than anybody has ever sat on in history rather than reinvesting their financial wealth in the economy, while ordinary people can't find jobs, and then the 1% tell the people who can't find jobs, if you don't give us an enormous permanent tax break (thus guaranteeing our permanent plutocratic status), we're going to starve you and throw you out of your home ... and then the only person with any capacity to resist this fairly straightforward extortion scheme says, "hmm. well, nothing we can do, i guess, we'll have to give them the tax breaks so they keep feeding the unemployed for another 12 months" ... well, who got what they really wanted, forever and ever, and who got one more year of subsistence living, with no promise of anything better to come?

To put the torture behind us is, inevitably, to put it in front of us.
