    and you know it. They could have eventually been reinstated retroactively, but try living without a job or unemployment benefits even for two weeks.

      Well a lot of folks here wanted to unemployment benefits to end for millions....
      That's a completely different concept than a temporary interruption.  Nobody wants unemployed people to go without their checks, but if Democrats roll over and give Republicans whatever they want in response to a threat to hold unemployment back, we'll never win anything from them.

      So don't mischaracterize that position, as you did.  It doesn't do your credibility any good.

        I have sometimes wondered why so many low income voters vote Republican. I think I'm figuring it out. This attitude is every bit as insensitive and uncompassionate to suffering. Why should the unemployed vote D?
