  •  Demanding physical sports like golf? (4+ / 0-)

I'm not sure you even break a sweat playing golf.

If the pilot's good, see, I mean if he's reeeally sharp, he can barrel that baby in so low... oh you oughta see it sometime. It's a sight. A big plane like a '52... varrrooom! Its jet exhaust... frying chickens in the barnyard!

Oh wait - that happens just standing around.

To work up a sweat -  and he's a Buddhist!

    •  You obviously know nothing about golf. eom (0+ / 0-)
      •  I didn't say it wasn't difficult (0+ / 0-)

Just that it's not physically taxing.

I'd say that fact that you can play into your 80s pretty much proves that. Not too many 80-year-olds actively playing hockey, for example.

        •  There's a difference between high impact and (0+ / 0-)

          physical taxation.

People can do things such as running, cycling, and water sports well into advanced age. In the days of grass courts the same could be said for tennis. It's a sport that emphasizes flexibility and fine motor control. Furthermore, a senior player absolutely can not perform at the same level as a similarly skilled player in their prime years. Even a good amateur achieves club speed of over 100 miles per hours multiply that by 50 - 70 times and throw in 5 miles of walking and you've worked up a pretty decent sweat.
