I wonder if the free pass confirmations Senator Reid had approved the other night with the alleged approval of minority obstructionists is part of negotiations on this? Could be leading to yet another "Gentleman's Agreement " (cave)?

to strike a deal with McConnell on confirmations.  51 votes can do that, but only at the beginning of the legislative session.  The filibuster is a tradition that is long overdue to be junked.  It actually allows the minority party to control any legislation in the Senate with only 2/5's of the vote.

Was that the R 's had been slow walking a huge number of confirmations and suddenly on the last day of the session the minority leader stops tagging them. Last time they bamboozled the Democrats with a supposed "gentleman's agreement " to limit the use of the filibuster.  I know they only take 51 votes.

It was just odd behavior and I hoped that this was not a precursor to another meaninglessness deal with them.
