    But he never really does sound the same. The sound world of the Tallis Fantasia doesn't show up in his later writing, nor do any of his symphonies occupy anywhere close to the same musical space.

    There are definitely some recurrent leitmotifs (the "Sine Nomine" being the most prominent), but it's nowhere near as blatant as Rachmaninov's Dies irae obsession.
