    Agustin Gomez-Arcos' The Carnivorous Lamb

Jamie O'Neill's At Swim, Two Boys

Mary Renault's The Persian Boy is on the list of 100, but the novel she wrote before it (Fire From Heaven) and the novel she wrote after it (Funeral Games) make a splendid trilogy.  It is high-end historical fiction in the context of Alexander's emotional and sometimes erotic attachments.

Edmund White has denounced James Purdy's work as "Gothic nonsense," but I like it generally and Eustace Chisholm and the Works especially.
