    I was going to state that most of the States electricity is generated by nuclear power, but according to the
    Florida EIA  petroleum-fired electricity  generated in Florida is higher than in any other State. This is mainly due to air conditioning use.

    I had read that Florida is way to hot for the available solar technology out there. Most pools are heated by solar but solar use is not widespread.

      Seems like if solar panels were mounted a foot or so above the roof of each house, that would effectively put the house in the shade--reducing the power needed for AC.

      Also, of course, peak solar production would coincide closely with peak AC demand.
